In the beginning...

Happy Days Creche was established in 1980 as St. Pius’s Playgroup by Kay Ingham and Sylvia Kelly. The playgroup was based in St. Pius’s National School, covering the Terenure and Templeogue area for eight years. The playgroup then moved premises to Terenure to facilitate it's continuing growth. In 2000 Happy Days Creche was founded when we purchased and developed a purpose built childcare facility in the Greenpark area of Walkinstown. Since then we have been providing quality childcare to the Walkinstown, Templeogue, Ballymount and surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on offering children a happy, safe and stimulating environment. We strive to offer the children a home from home atmosphere through our cosy premises and caring staff.

Happy Days Creche today...

Currently we have nineteen highly qualified staff members, of whom five are part-time staff. We have been approved by the Health Board since the inception of the Childcare Act. Many of our staff have been with us since they started working in childcare and majority of staff are with us over five years. Our manager Audrey has been with us since we opened in 2000. 

We offer full-day care, pre-school and after-school facilities to children from 3 months to the end of fourth class primary school. Our childcare service is focused on working together with parents to cater for children on an emotional, social, physical and intellectual level. 

As a family orientated service Kay commits to continue the legacy she built with Sylvia over the 40 years and together with Sylvia's family we continue to commit to providing a child centred environment for the families in the Templeogue and Walkinstown area of Dublin.
