After School

We offer after-school collection service to Bishop Shanahan National School, Templeogue. Norman our bus driver collects children on our bus and brings them back to the crèche. Our focus is on a home from home base for the children. When the children arrive from school they can either complete their homework with Christina if their parent wishes, or have time to rest by taking some time do wind down from the school-day with group games with Laura. When all of the children have had returned from school we have lunch as a group.

The second half of the after-school child’s day is about fun! We feel the children do enough structure in school so after lunch we allow a large element of free play. During the summer months we tend to spend a lot of the afternoon outdoors in the park playing games. When schools are on holidays or breaks the children can attend Happy Days for full-day care or afterschool hours. For our summer school we bring the children on excursions to playgrounds, libraries, play-gyms and museums. As many of our full-time children stay on for afterschool our numbers of available places can be quite limited.
